The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 auction came to an end with well over INR 500 crore spent on players, with Ishan Kishan with INR 15.25 crore being the highest bid player.
After months of research and planning the franchise finally have their players, who will represent their teams in the upcoming seasons in a bid to win the coveted IPL title.

Couldn't have retained Archer for such a high price: RR owner Badale
Rajasthan Royals owner Manoj Badale felt that it was difficult for the franchise to pay something high as Rs 9 crore to retain Jofra Archer, after Mumbai Indians won the bid for the England pacer on Sunday.
"He's (Archer) been an integral part of our team for the past few years and grew in stature with us,"he said.
"But if we had gone on to retain him at Rs 9 crores, we wouldn't have been able to build the squad we have now. However, he was always on our list even though we knew he was injured for this year. We pushed as hard as we could and went all the way for him, but unfortunately lost out to a team with a larger purse. We wish Jofra the very best in his recovery and for the future."
Faf strengthens the batting, helps team with leadership skills: Bangar
Former South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis is a proven performer and his inclusion will strengthen the top-order batting and benefit the team with his leadership skills, said Royal Challengers Bangalore head coach Sanjay Bangar.

Didn't set aside a budget for Archer, says MI co-owner Ambani
Jofra Archer might not be fit to play in IPL 2022, but Mumbai Indians are counting on the England pacer to form formidable partnership with Jasprit Bumrah.
"Before Jofra, we went for all pacers but were priced out of all of them. We planned yesterday night that we were gonna go for him and we did not set aside a budget for him. It's just the pre-auction dynamics," Akash Ambani said
We were expecting Sakariya to be priced higher: Pravin Amre
Delhi Capitals assistant coach Pravin Amre was pleased with their buys on the second day of the IPL 2022 mega auction after the franchise secured the services of pacers Khaleel Ahmed and Chetan Sakariya for INR 4.2 crore.
"Chetan Sakariya had a tremendous IPL season the last time, and we were expecting Sakariya's price to be higher," Amre said of Sakariya
Kumble happy for Indian pacers fetching big bids
Punjab Kings head coach Anil Kumble is extremely satisfied with the new players, including Liam Livingstone and Odean Smith, coming to his franchise during the IPL auction, the dynamics of which were "very different and challenging".

Shreyas and Cummins are two good options for captaincy: KKR CEO
After buying Shreyas Iyer and Pat Cummins for a whopping INR 12.25 crore and 7.25 crore, KKR CEO says both are excellent captaincy options for the team.
"Delighted with the first session. We got Pat Cummins for that price. We thought he would go higher. Shreyas, obviously, a quality player at the top of the Indian batting order," Venky told reporters.
"As far captaincy, thats a decision the coach and the think tank will take. Between Cummins and Shreyas, we have two good options," he added.
Buttler was fine with our picks: RR on signing Ashwin
Wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler has moved on from the bitter run out episode with Ravichandran Ashwin, his franchise Rajasthan Royals said after the premier India off-spinner joined the Englishman for the upcoming IPL.
"We spoke to Jos prior to the auction and just talked through all of our prioritisation of players. Honestly, he didn't even think about it (his run out by Ashwin at the non-striker's end in 2019). I had to sort of bring it up to just check it was okay. And he said 'it's absolutely fine'," RR CRO Jake Lush McCrum said.
Not possible to get back everyone who played for us: CSK CEO
CSK chief executive Kasi Viswanathan was happy that the franchise was able to get back Dwayne Bravo and Robin Uthappa but remained pragmatic about reassembling the team that won the IPL 2021 title.
At the same time, CSK let go of Faf du Plessis and Josh Hazlewood, who have both joined RCB.
"We are very happy that we got back Robbie as well as Bravo," Viswanathan told the franchise's official channel.
"Was a little bit disappointed that get couldn't get Faf. We always that in this auction it will not be possible to get back all the players who played for CSK," Viswanathan said.
Surprised the price didn't go up for Warner: DC co-owner
Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal felt that the price tag of Rs. 6.25 crore was too low for a quality player like David Warner after the franchise secured his services for IPL 2022.
"I think we were a bit surprised that the price did not go high for him. He had played for Delhi in the past and we are very excited to have him," Jindal said on Warner.
"With Prithvi and him, we have a powerful opening pair. The Powerplay will be something to behold and we can't wait for the IPL to begin."
