Their bowlers, too, were clinical. In the second innings, they bowled Bangladesh out for 146, setting India a target of 95, which they chased down easily.
Former India batter Ajay Jadeja reckons the way India went about their business and secured a victory from a position tame draw seemed the only outcome, will go down as a history-changing moment.
“For me, it is a history-changing moment as from now on, the world cricket, the fans, and the rival teams will see India differently. India were not renowned for playing this brand of cricket, but Rohit Sharma has changed the mindset of the players. The team will do anything to win matches,” he said on Jio Cinema.
With this win, India have further consolidated their chances of making it through to their third straight World Test Championship (WTC) final. Their next Test series will be a three-match affair at home against New Zealand, followed by a five-match series away against Australia from November 22.
