Charl Langeveldt appointed Zimbabwe’s bowling coach

Ravish Gobind and Curtly Diesel, meanwhile, have come in as strategic performance coach and strength and conditioning coach respectively

Following the appointment of Justin Sammons as head Coach and Dion Ebrahim as batting coach, Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has now confirmed that former South African pacer Charl Langeveldt has been appointed the bowling coach of the senior Men’s side.

Langeveldt, who recently served as the bowling coach of Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), has been roped in following recommendations made by the Mhishi Committee of Inquiry that was established to probe the team’s failure to qualify for the recently concluded ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Ravish Gobind and Curtly Diesel, meanwhile, have come in as strategic performance coach and strength and conditioning coach respectively.

Former Zimbabwe cricketer Stuart Matsikenyeri, who was already part of the backroom staff as an assistant coach, has now been appointed the fielding coach of the side.

Amato Machikicho will continue serving as the team’s physiotherapist.

ZC, however, is yet to finalise the appointment of the team manager.

The new coaching staff’s first assignment will be the five-match T20I series against India at home, starting July 6 (Saturday) at the Harare Sports Club.
