India’s much-awaited tour against West Indies is set to kick-off on July 12, with the first Test being scheduled to play at Windsor Park, in Dominica. The second Test will be played from July 20 in Trinidad at the iconic Queen's Park Oval to complete the two-match Test series. The two-match Test series will be the first series for India in the 2023-25 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
"We are delighted to be able to confirm the schedule and venues for the highly anticipated visit by India," Johnny Grave, CEO of CWI, said. "One of the highlights will be the 100th Test at the Queen's Park Oval and this promises to be a fantastic occasion as we celebrate this historic event between these two proud cricketing nations."
"We are working closely with the ICC T20 World Cup team to improve the temporary infrastructure at the Broward County Cricket Stadium [in Lauderhill] for the August T20Is against India with a view to trialling new stands and hospitality facilities that could be used next June at the T20 World Cup. The two matches in Florida, therefore have greater importance as they will help with our T20 World Cup operational plans," CWI CEO Johnny Grave told ESPNCricinfo.
The Men in Blue will then play three ODIs and five T20Is, with the first two ODIs in Barbados at the Kensington Oval on July 27 and July 29. The teams will then play the third ODI Trinidad at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy before the first T20I at the same venue. Guyana will play hosts to the second and third T20I before the last two T20Is will be played in Florida at Lauderhill.
