India-Pakistan Champions Trophy clash to take place in Lahore on March 1

The PCB has submitted a draft to the ICC, which has India playing all their matches at the Gaddafi Stadium

India and Pakistan have been slated to play their Champions Trophy 2025 match at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on March 1, according to the draft submitted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to the ICC on July 3 (Wednesday). However, the BCCI is yet to give its approval.

Karachi and Rawalpindi will host the semi-final. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand will be in Group A, while Australia, South Africa, England, and Afghanistan will be in Group B.

It is understood that PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi in his drfat to the ICC said all India matches will be played in Lahore due for "security and logistical reasons."

“The Pakistan Cricket Board has submitted the draft of the 15-game ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Seven games will be played in Lahore, while three are kept in Karachi. Rawalpindi will host five contests,” an ICC Board member said.

Overall, seven matches will be played in Lahore, while Rawalpindi and Karachi will witness five and three matches, respectively. However, if India were to make it through, their game would be played in Lahore, where the final will also be played.

The 2023 Asia Cup was also held in a hybrid model, where Pakistan played all their matches a home, while India played their games in Sri Lanka. Following their T20 World Cup triumph, BCCI secretary had laid out India's goal to bring home the Champions Trophy as well.

The Champions Trophy will be played between February 19 and March 9, 2025. A reserve day has also been put in place in case there's a washout.
