Harmanpreet Kaur fined 75% of her match fee for outburst vs Bangladesh: Report

India Women captain Harmanpreet Kaur has been fined 75% of her match fee following her side's tied match against Bangladesh Women in Mirpur on Saturday (July 22), according to Cricbuzz. 

Harmanpreet was unhappy after being adjudged leg-before, whacked the stumps in anger, and directed some words towards the umpire on her way out.

At the post-match presentation, she also criticised the umpiring in the match. "For the on-field incident (smashing the wicket) she will be fined 50 percent of her match fee while for the way she represented herself in the presentation ceremony, she will be fined 25 percent of her match fee," a match official told Cricbuzz.

As a result of her actions, the batter will receive two demerit points for the on-field incident and one more for taking a jibe at the umpiring after the match.

"A lot of learning from this game. Even apart from the cricket, the type of umpiring that was happening there, we were very surprised," Harmanpreet said in the post-match presentation. 

"The next time whenever we are coming to Bangladesh, we'll have to make sure we have to deal with this kind of umpiring and accordingly we'll have to prepare ourselves."

Despite the match being tied, a Super Over was not played as the teams had exceeded the allotted time. As a result, the match ended in a tie and the series was shared.
