Guyana Amazon Warriors sign Gurbaz for CPL 2024

Imran Tahir, Saim Ayub, Azam Khan and Dwaine Pretorius are the other international players who have been retained

Imran Tahir, who led Guyana Amazon Warriors to their maiden Caribbean Premier League title last year, has been retained by the franchise for the 2024 edition. 

Pakistan’s dashing left-handed opener Saim Ayub, wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan and South African all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius are the other international players who have been retained.

Apart from them, the Amazon Warriors have also brought in Afghanistan’s aggressive wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz. The 22-year-old played for the same franchise in 2022, scoring 157 runs across six innings @ 26.17 and a strike rate of 140.2.

Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Romario Shepherd and Keemo Paul are the big names from the West Indies who have been kept for the next edition, which will take place from August 29 to October 6. 

Overall, Guyana have signed 14 players so far. There are three more spots left which will be taken care of in the draft in July.
