Follow UsTempers flared at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on September 7 (Saturday) as team India speedster Avesh Khan gave his countryman Sarfaraz Khan a flaming, aggressive send-off after dismissing the right-hander in the final session of Day 3.
On the day, Sarfaraz got off to an absolute flier, racing to 44 off his first 25 balls. His next 10 balls yielded him just 2 runs but Sarafaz was still on course to post the fastest fifty of Duleep Trophy 2024.
That’s when Avesh, bowling his third over of the innings, got a good length delivery outside-off to rear up violently and take the outside edge off the right-handed Sarfaraz. Dhruv Jurel took his fourth catch of the day as Sarfaraz departed for a well-made 46 (36).
This is when things spiced up big time as Avesh, post the dismissal, gave an aggressive send-off to his fellow countryman, celebrating in his face before showing the batter the way back to the pavilion.
Things could have gotten really ugly at this point but, to Sarfaraz’s credit, the batter did not react. He held his composure and walked back to the dressing room without creating a fuss.
Earlier in the day, Sarfaraz smashed Akash Deep for five consecutive boundaries in a single over.
