Saint Lucia Kings defeated Barbados Royals by 13 runs in Match 24 of the Caribbean Premier League 2024 on September 22 (Sunday) and kept themselves at the top of the points table.
SLC skipper Faf du Plessis got out cheaply but Johnson Charles (41-ball 53) and Ackeem Auguste (32-ball 35 retired hurt) gave their team a good foundation. Tim Seifert then whacked 45* off 25 to propel Saint Lucia to 162/3.
In reply, Kadeem Alleyne (25-ball 47) and Quinton de Kock (13-ball 22) got the Royals off to a rapid start, adding 56 runs in just 4.4 overs. But once they perished, Barbados lost all the momentum and fell short by 13 runs.
Alzarri Joseph, Noor Ahmad and David Wiese picked up two wickets each and were also very economical.
