Follow UsQuinton de Kock was at his brutal best as Barbados Royals hammered Guyana Amazon Warriors by 32 runs in Match 16 of the Caribbean Premier League 2024 at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, on September 14 (Saturday).
The left-handed opener from South Africa tonked 115 off 68, studded with eight four and nine maximums, to propel Barbados to 205/6 in their 20 overs. Kadeem Alleyne’s 9 ball-22 and Jason Holder’s 10-ball 28* helped the Royals cross the 200-run mark.
Dwaine Pretorius and Kevin Sinclair were economical, but the other Guyana bowlers were taken to the cleaners. In reply, Tim Robinson (19 off 19) and Shai Hope (40 off 34) wasted too many deliveries at the start and that never allowed Guyana to stay in the hunt. There were some fiery cameos in the second half, but it was never going to be enough.
