The wait is over.
India’s T20I series against Ireland was all about Jasprit Bumrah’s comeback once the seamer was named in the squad. The fact that he was named the captain was an adjunct to his return.
Coming back after 11 months, which felt like an eternity, Bumrah bowled a terrific first over. After conceding a boundary on the first, the 29-year castled former Ireland skipper, Andrew Balbirnie. Three balls later, Lorcan Tucker was caught behind attempting a scoop.
While he was understandably light on pace, he had swing and wickets to his name. That one over from Bumrah was enough to make Indian fans happy.
And you could sense that euphoria in various posts made by fans along with current and former cricketers.
JASPRIT IS BACK WITH A BOOM !!!
Despite India's best efforts, Ireland set India 140 to win, thanks to an unbeaten 51 by Barry McCarthy and a brisk 39 by Curtis Campher.
