Boult, Pollard, Bravo to play for MI Emirates in ILT20

The franchise has also signed three players from Afghanistan and England

Trent Boult, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Imran Tahir and Nicholas Pooran will play for the Mumbai Indians Emirates team in UAE's International League T20 (ILT20).

Boult was recently granted release from his New Zealand Cricket central contract as the left-arm paceman wants to spend more time with his family. The 33-year-old also wants to make himself available for domestic leagues across the globe and will now have a “significantly reduced” role with the Black Caps.

"We are glad to have one of our key pillars, Kieron Pollard, continue with the MI Emirates. Joining us back are Dwayne Bravo, Trent Boult, and Nicholas Pooran. A very warm welcome to all players of the MI Emirates," Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio, said in a statement.

The franchise has also signed three players from Afghanistan - Najibullah Zadran, Zahir Khan and Fazalhaq Farooqui. Will Smeed, who recently became the first batter to score a century in The Hundred, is also part of the team.

The six-team league, set to begin in January 2023, will have 34 matches spread across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

All the teams in ILT20 have been acquired by IPL franchise owners and will have 18 players in each team with the opportunity to sign 12 overseas players, two players from Associate nations and four UAE players.

Players who have signed for MI Emirates: Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Nicholas Pooran, Trent Boult, Andre Fletcher, Imran Tahir, Samit Patel, Will Smeed, Jordan Thompson, Najibullah Zadran, Zahir Khan, Fazalhaq Farooqui, Bradley Wheal, Bas De Leede.
