Bilal Khan becomes fastest pacer to 100 wickets in ODIs

Overall, Sandeep Lamichhane and Rashid Khan are the top two bowlers in the list of fastest to 100 ODI wickets

Oman’s Bilal Khan, on July 24 (Wednesday), became the fastest pacer to 100 wickets in the One-Day Internationals. The 37-year-old reached the milestone in his 49th ODI, breaking Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi’s record (51 ODIs).

Nepal’s legspinner Sandeep Lamichhane and Afghanistan’s ace legspinner Rashid Khan are the top two bowlers in the list of fastest to 100 ODI wickets, having got to the milestone in 42 and 44 ODIs respectively.

Bilal got to the landmark against Namibia in Match 17 of the ICC World Cup League Two 2023-27. The left-arm seamer dismissed Jan Frylinck and Namibia skipper Gerhard Erasmus to touch the 100-wicket mark in the 50-over format. He eventually finished with figures of 3/50.
