Adidas, one of the leading sports brands in the world, is set to be the official kit sponsor for the Indian cricket team starting June 2023.
The development was confirmed by Jay Shah, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, on his Twitter account.
"I'm pleased to announce BCCI's partnership with adidas as a kit sponsor. We are committed to growing the game of cricket and could not be more excited to partner with one of the world’s leading sportswear brands. Welcome aboard, adidas," he tweeted.
Adidas will replace Killer Jeans, who were associated with the team on an interim basis after Mobile Premier League (MPL) pulled out of their deal mid-way.
According to certain reports, they paid the Indian board 6.5 lakh per match and nine crores in royalties during their tenure as the official kit sponsor.
