Mohammad Salahuddin, a famous Bangladesh domestic coach, who was roped in as senior assistant coach of the national team earlier in November, was named as batting coach of the side that will tour West Indies for two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is.
The announcement was made on November 20 (Wednesday) while the first Test begins on November 22 at North Sound. Salahuddin won the Bangladesh Premier League as head coach of the Comilla Victorians after having guided Sylhet Royals to the final in the 2013-14 season.
Salahuddin replaced David Hemp in the role. Hemp, who was hired as High Performance head coach and then re-modelled into a batting coach, would now be back to his original role, reported Cricbuzz.
"Hemp is not part of the team as we have appointed Mohammad Salahuddin as senior assistant coach. He will look after our batting," Shahriar Nafees, BCB cricket operation in-charge was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
Salahuddin’s tenure runs till March 15 next year, until and unless his contract gets renewed. Among other hirings, India's Akshay Hiremath replaced Mohsin Sheikh as performance analyst for the tour.
