There has been a rejig in the India A squad for the series against the England Lions, with the Men’s Selection Committee picking Tilak Varma and Arshdeep Singh in the squad for the last two first-class matches. Rinku Singh, who was in South Africa as a backup in the Test squad, is all set to play his first four-day game for India A after amassing 3099 runs at an average of 58.47 in first-class cricket.
With KS Bharat and Dhruv Jurel now joining the senior squad for the England series, which starts in Hyderabad on January 25, Jharkhand’s Kumar Kushagra and Railways' Upendra Yadav have been picked in the squad. While Abhimanyu Easwaran will continue to lead the side, spinners Manav Suthar and Pulkit Narang have been removed from the squad, with pacers Tushar Deshpande and Vidwath Kaverappa retaining their spots.
India A will have the services of Washington Sundar in the last two games, who will be joined by Saurabh Kumar and Shams Mulani - two of the most impressive spinners on the Indian domestic circuit at the moment. Yash Dayal has also been picked in the side for both matches.
