West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell and Australia batter David Warner will headline the third edition of the International League T20 (ILT20), starting January 11, 2025, the franchise announced in a media release. The tournament's final is scheduled to take place on February 9, 2025.
Some of the other retained stars include Mohammad Amir, Chris Jordan, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Johnson Charles, David Willey, Wanindu Hasaranga, Rovman Powell, James Vince, Nicholas Pooran and Tom Kohler-Cadmore.
The six franchises were given a two-week window from June 1 to retain their players. There were no restrictions on retaining overseas players, but they were mandatorily asked to retain a maximum of two players from the UAE.
The franchises can now acquire new players in the ongoing Player Acquisition Window, which will end on September 15. They can also add two additional UAE players to their team from the ILT20 Development Tournament which will be held in October.
The most recent season of ILT20 saw Mumbai Emirates beat Dubai Capitals in the final to clinch their first title. However, in the inaugural edition, James Vince-led Gulf Giants brushed aside Desert Vipers to win the tournament in 2022.

Gulf Giants: Aayan Afzal Khan, Blessing Muzarabani, Chris Jordan, Dipendra Singh Airee, Gerhard Erasmus, Jamie Overton, James Vince, Jamie Smith, Jordan Cox, Mohammad Zohaib Zubair, Rehan Ahmed, Richard Gleeson and Shimron Hetmyer.
