Ambati Rayudu joins Texas Super Kings in MLC League

The right-handed batter will reunite with Stephen Fleming, Devon Conway and Micthell Santner for the inaugural edition

After winning the Indian Premier League championship for the Chennai Super Kings last month, Ambati Rayudu is set to feature in the Major Cricket League (MLC) as part of the Texas Super Kings.

The right-handed batter, who retired from professional sport after the summit clash against Gujarat Titans, is set to play his first franchise cricket outside India.

The 37-year-old will be joined by his Chennai teammates, Devon Conway and Mitchell Santner, who are among the few players to have signed for the league for the Texas side. Along with the trio, David Miller and Gerald Coetzee will also play for the Dallas-based franchise.

The team will be coached by Stephen Fleming, and the former Kiwi skipper will have the services of Eric Simmons and Albie Morkel as Assistant Coaches.

Dwayne Bravo, who was the bowling coach of the Chennai outfit in the recently concluded IPL, will feature for the team as a player in the MLC.

The inaugural edition of the MLC will be a six-team tournament scheduled from July 14 to July 31 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, with the home team, Super Kings kickstarting the competition against Los Angeles Knight Riders on the opening day.
