Abhimanyu Easwaran continued his invincible run in red-ball cricket as the Bengal batter smashed his fourth ton in his last six innings to continue making a serious case to be picked for the five-Test series against Australia.
Easwaran endured a rare failure in the first innings of Bengal’s first Ranji clash of the season against Uttar Pradesh but made up for it in the second by smashing his 27th first-class ton.
The right-hander’s century came in quick time too, off just 141 balls, with him smashing nine boundaries in the process.
Easwaran has now scored at least one century in each of his last four first-class matches. Including this century, the 29-year-old’s last six scores in first-class cricket read 100*, 5, 191, 19, 116, 157*.
This stupendous run of form this season has come on the back of him smashing an unbeaten double ton in Bengal’s last Ranji game in the 2023/24 campaign against Bihar.
The 29-year-old is now averaging 78.92 this calendar year, having amassed 1026 runs in 16 innings.
