Cosmas Kyewuta spell
Figures of 1/42 does not do justice to how well Cosmas Kyewuta bowled. He bowled fast, delivered those cross-seam deliveries and more importantly, executed those yorkers at the death to perfection, which removed Sherfane Rutherford.
Uganda’s sloppy fielding & catching
Uganda could have potentially restricted West Indies to around 150-155 had they been a little clinical on the field. For instance Dinesh Nakrani misfielded twice in two balls in the tenth over to leak an extra seven runs and not to forget Riazat Ali Shah dropped Johnson Charles when he was only on 20 (18) at mid-off.
The opener finished with 44 off 42 in the end.
Russell's finishing touch
It looked as though West Indies would not get more than 165, but Andre Russell smashed Kyewuta for 18 runs off the final over, which included as many as four boundaries to take West Indies to 173/5.
He peppered the field in the square region and fine on the off-side given that majority of the balls he faced we full lengths outside off.
Akeal Hosein's match-winning spell
Akeal Hosein was too hot to handle for the Ugandans as they fell like a pack of cards in the powerplay.
The left-arm spinner finished with 5/11 as the Cricket Cranes were bundled out for just 39 – the joint-lowest total in T20 World Cup history.
West Indies up their NRR
West Indies registered a massive 134-run victory, and has a result, their net run-rate (+3.574) has shot up massively.
It could indeed prove to be crucial in the context of making it through to the Super Eights.
