5 key factors in DC's demolition job against GT

Went for a loo break and missed the clash? Here's a quick recap of DC’s win over GT

DC’s destruction in the powerplay

If there was ever one team that could give Gujarat Titans a trashing, it is Delhi Capitals. After reducing them to 31/3 in IPL 2023 clash, Ishant Sharma starred (2/8) in a brilliant show to have them reeling at 30/4 after six overs.

It was the lowest-ever powerplay score for the Titans, and the contest was done and dusted there itself.

Tristan Stubbs rolls his ‘golden arm’

Before this clash, Tristan Stubbs had one IPL wicket but, in a sizzling over, the off-spinner picked up two handy wickets, removing Abhinav Manohar and Shahrukh Khan.

Safe to say, Stubbs does indeed have a golden arm, with figures of 2/11, only the third occasion when he picked up two wickets in a T20 innings.

Mukesh Kumar is back to form

Indian fans would have desperately wanted to see Mukesh Kumar succeed, and he did just that, with the wickets of Wriddhiman Saha, Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad. With figures of 3/14, Mukesh indeed showed that he is still in the race for the T20 World Cup.

Rishabh Pant’s remarkable all-round showing

Back from a long-term injury, Rishabh Pant should have been rusty, right? Nope, the wicketkeeper showed great form, with two catches and two quick stumpings against GT.

Not just that, he came out scoring 16 off just 11 balls, earning himself the Player of the Match award.

GT’s missed trick of bowling Rashid early

Reduced to 89, one would ideally turn towards their lead bowler but not Shubman Gill. He only brought Rashid Khan in the sixth over. In two overs, Rashid created numerous chances and also removed Shai Hope.

If only Gill brought Rashid earlier.
