Royal Challengers Bengaluru felt the wrath of Travis Head’s bat on April 15 (Monday), with the Sunrisers Hyderabad opener smashing a 39-ball century - the fourth-fastest in Indian Premier League history and the fastest for SRH.
The left-hander from Australia whacked 102 off 41 deliveries at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Chris Gayle (30 balls vs Pune Warriors in 2013), Yusuf Pathan (37 balls vs Mumbai Indians in 2010) and David Miller (38 balls vs RCB in 2013) are the only ones to get to the landmark quicker than Head.
Head smashed nine four and eight maximums during his stay in the middle. The 30-year-old eventually got out to Lockie Ferguson in the 13th over, but only after putting RCB on the mat.
RCB have now conceded the most number of centuries in IPL - 13.
Head, who scored his second T20 century, became the fifth overseas batter for SRH to register a hundred.
He has been in some hitting form this season, having scored 235 runs across five innings at an average of 47 and a strike rate of 199.15.
