The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken serious actions against a whole host of players from both India and Pakistan, on November 4 (Tuesday), for their actions during the Asia Cup 2025.
Both Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav and pacer Jasprit Bumrah were found guilty of breaching Article 2.21, which relates to ‘conduct that brings the game into disrepute’. As a result of breaching Article 2.21, the Indian skipper has been fined 30% of his match fees and received two demerit points.
On the other hand, ace pacer Bumrah has been fined 30% of his match fees and handed one demerit point. Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan, too, has been fined 30% of his match fees and given one demerit point for his celebration against India.
The biggest news, though, is that Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has been banned for the remainder of the ODI series against South Africa. Rauf was fined for breaching Article 2.21 and was fined 30 per cent of his match fee and received two additional demerit points.
Rauf was in headlines for all the wrong reasons during the Asia Cup 2025, as the pacer was seen making gestures about planes falling down, which counted as a political reference on the pitch.
