BCCI invites bids for media rights for Women's IPL for 2023-27

BCCI has not specified whether the bidding process will be conducted through an e-auction

The BCCI on Friday invited bids for the media rights of the Women's IPL for a five-year cycle from 2023 to 2027.

"The Governing Council of the IPL invites bids from reputed entities to acquire the Media Rights for the Women’s Indian Premier League Seasons 2023-2027, through a tender process," an official release said.

Interested parties are required to make a non-refundable payment of INR 5 lakh (plus GST) and the Invitation to Tender (ITT) including the terms and conditions for the tender process including eligibility requirements, the process for submissions of bids, proposed media rights packages, and obligations, etc will be made available on receipt of payment.

BCCI has not specified if the bidding process for the media rights will be conducted through an e-auction similar to the men's competition.

Recently, Disney Star, Viacom18 and Times Internet bagged the men's IPL media rights for the cycle of 2023-27 which has generated a revenue of INR 48,390.50 crore.

A five-team Women's IPL for the 2023 edition had been okayed at the BCCI Annual General Meeting in October. The tournament is set to be played in March and will have 22 matches with each squad likely to be allowed to sign six overseas players.
