Gaikwad-Mitchell set platform
After losing Ajinkya Rahane (9) early, Ruturaj Gaikwad (98) and Daryl Mitchell (52) scored 107 off just 64 deliveries to put Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on top, setting the platform for them to reach 212.
Dube finishes off well
Walking in at four, Shivam Dube kept the momentum going after the Gaikwad-Mitchell stand, finishing unbeaten on 39 off 20 to help CSK to a match-winning total. He murdered anything that was full.
Deshpande's triple strike
Tushar Deshpande (4/27) derailed Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) chase with three wickets in the powerplay. His ploy of bowling short and wide, especially to the left-handers, did the trick. SRH never recovered from that.
SRH lose the plot in middle overs
While SRH did not have a great powerplay, they had a brilliant chance to pull things back in the middle overs. However, the CSK bowlers showed terrific control and executed their plans extremely well to bowl SRH out of the contest.
Jadeja’s impeccable spell
With plenty of dew around at Chepauk, Ravindra Jadeja bowled with superb control and barely missed his length.
He just conceded one boundary and gave away more than a single just once more.
